IMPORTANT DATES:

 

Tuesday September 30, 2025: Deadline for application form, fee, membership must be in good standing

Friday, October 17, 2025, 4 pm - 8 pm: Drop off pieces to Toronto Potters Studio

Saturday October 18, Jury selection

Sunday October 19, Photo Documentation process for chosen work

Sunday, October 19, 4:00 – 6:00 pm: Pick up pieces after jury / photography process

November, 2025 Delivery of selected works by exhibitors to the Craft Ontario gallery at 401 Richmond street for installation (dates and details will follow)

November and December, 2025: Exhibition at the Craft Ontario Gallery

Opening Reception & Awards Presentation: to be confirmed

 

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

 

All submissions must be RECEIVED by midnight Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

• Applicants must be Toronto Potters members in good standing, with dues paid for the spring application process through the exhibition dates until the end of December 2025

• Entry Fee: $40 (non-refundable) online application payment

• Each participant may submit up to 3 entries (Individual pieces not to exceed 30 pounds)

• Each participant must submit a biography and the artist statement (200 - word maximum each) on two separate documents.

• All pieces must be for sale or marked NFS. The artist sets the retail price.

  Sets and series must be labeled/priced as one piece.

• Only works in which clay is the major component will be considered. Wall pieces are acceptable, but there is no opportunity to hang from the ceiling.

• Work(s) must have been made within the past 2 years and not have been exhibited previously in a juried show

• Work(s) submitted to the Craft Ontario exhibition must be actual works selected by the jurors. Replicas will not be accepted. Toronto Potters reserves the right to refuse any work differing from the original.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

·       Read Submission Guidelines

·       Renew your Toronto Potter membership at torontopotters.com if needed.

·       Measure and weigh your piece(s) - maximum weight not to exceed 25 lbs and fit through a door.

·       Prepare your 200 -word biography and artist statement

·       Submit your application through the online Application Form at JOTFORM LINK (that will be provided later).
If you are unable to apply online, you may submit the print version of the application, Bio and the Artist Statement with your cheque. Please contact the organizer: Hana Balaban-Pommier, hana_pommier@sympatico.ca.

   Completed Entry Form (includes Title, description, material/medium, weight, measurements in cm., Retail price)

JURY PROCESS:

Delivery of work for jury process:  Friday, October 17, 2025, 4 pm - 8 pm to Toronto Potters Studio

180 Shaw Street - Studio 107, Toronto, ON. M6J 2W5

Find street parking or park in the curved driveway at the north side of the building for 10 minutes to drop off your work. The building can be entered from the north door on Argyle Street or the main door on Shaw Street. The loading ramp at the north door leads to the main door elevator. Take elevator to the first floor to Studio 107. You will unpack your submission(s) and take packing material home with you.

 

 

Jury Day: Saturday, October 18, 2025 

Jurors:  Marc Egan and Marissa Alexander, Ceramic artists and Educators

 

 

Pick-up of work after jury process:  Sunday, October 19, 2025, between 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Toronto Potters Studio,

180 Shaw Street-Studio 107, Toronto, ON M6J 2W5

• You will be notified of the jury decisions at this time

• The selection made by jurors is final.

• You will pack your own submissions with your own packing materials. If you are not available for pick-up, you must arrange with someone else to pick up your work, as it cannot be left at the studio.

• Professional photographs of selected work will be emailed to participants as well as used for an on-line catalogue and promotion

 

THE EXHIBITION:

The information will be provided separately.

 

EXHIBITORS WARRANTY:

By signing the entry form the exhibitor warrants that:

·       He/she/they is the sole author of the work

·       Each work is original and does not infringe on an existing copyright

·       He/she/they is the exclusive owner of the rights and has full power and authority to grant the rights

·       Acceptance into the exhibition grants permission to Toronto Potters and Craft Ontario the right to use digital images for possible reproduction in all promotional material, critical reviews of the exhibition archival storage relating to the history of Toronto Potters and the gallery’s exhibitions, and for promoting future projects
