TORONTO POTTERS MEETING
Principles of 3-D Printing with Mark Kim
Tuesday March 26th new Toronto Potters member, architect Mark Kim, will discuss his exploration of the principles of 3-D printing, as applied to a variety of materials, from the industrial to the traditional, including its application to clay as a medium.
Mark Kim is a Toronto-based architect and designer who approaches his work through the lens of context, constraints, and social agents. He studied M. Arch at the University of Waterloo and has worked abroad in Seoul and Dublin. Outside of the practice, Mark explores the idea of liminal state and duality through a variety of mediums, including 3D printing, music, textiles, and pottery.
At the crossroads of craft and contemporary art production, at least two current exhibitions* in the GTA involve artists whose practices bridge disciplines, particularly between art, architecture and design, where industrial materials are their medium.
