Coloured Clay with Lisa Gwen Robbins
Lisa Gwen Robbins will share details about her most recent career adventures in ceramics on Tuesday night, along with a demo on working with coloured clay bodies. Join her presentation in person or on-line April 25th at 7:00 pm
Lisa Gwen Robbins is a Toronto based ceramic artist and graduate from the Sheridan College Craft and Design program. She has a background in graphic design and her varied interests including photography, glass, iron and fiber art.
Since graduation from Sheridan College in 2008, she has taught pottery at Clay Design Studio and has exhibited her work at the Gardiner Museum, in the FUSION “Breakthrough” Travelling Juried Exhibition, at Clay Design Studio and at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair in 2008, 2021 and 2022.
Lisa has won several awards for her design and technical innovations, including Best in Show – Sheridan College Craft & Design Graduate Show, Gardiner Museum Graduate Outstanding Achievement Award, American Craft Magazine NICHE Award Finalist.
She is inspired by “the boundless complex structural patterns of reality and the exquisite beauty of the universal design revealed in patterns found in mathematics and science”. In her practise she hopes to continue to push the boundaries between craft and art in her exploration of materials, process and inspirational focus.
